List Analysis

Here, we generate an aggregate analysis of the people in your uploaded list. You can choose from two list analysis options, deduped and weighted:

List analysis - deduped

With this option, if your uploaded list contains duplicates, we dedupe these to make a unique list before analyzing.

List analysis - weighted

With this option, if your uploaded list contains duplicates, we leave these in as we analyze. This means the demographics of people appearing multiple times will weight your analysis, e.g. a married man appearing 5 times in your list will effectively count as 5 married men in the resulting aggregate analysis.

The first of these two options (deduped) is generally recommended, unless you believe the presence of duplicates in your list has significance, and should therefore weight the resulting analysis.

Audience Reach Analysis

Here we analyze the followers of accounts in your list, rather than the list members themselves, to generate an analysis of the combined audience reached.

You can choose from two audience reach analysis options, deduped and weighted:

Audience reach - deduped

With this option, we first making a fair sample of 50,000 unique people following one or more accounts in your list, then generate your audience reach analysis.

Audience reach - weighted

With this option, people following multiple accounts in your list will weight the resulting analysis accordingly, e.g. a single woman following 10 accounts in your list will effectively count as 10 single women in the resulting aggregate analysis. Analysis is based on a fair sample of 50,000 followers (not deduped).

The second of these two options (weighted) is generally recommended, as it will tend to give a more pronounced picture of demographic traits in the combined audience.
